At The Cafe

For this painting, the artist originally  intended to create a highly realistic and soft portrait. While painting, the work began to take on a looser quality and Sicignano went with that impulse while retaining the intimacy that was initially desired.  The subject's eyes, lit with expectancy, speak volumes.
